Surprise!

It was amazing when my mom came to surprise me at my baby shower in May. We decided it'd be fun to do the same for Andrea's baby shower. The thing is, she already knew my mom planned on coming. But, in my mom's words,

"I can't surprise Andrea...but her sister can!"

So Shelby and I booked a flight to beautiful Washington to visit for the weekend. I don't know how we kept it a secret, but we managed to catch Andrea completely by surprise. She burst into (happy) tears when she saw not just her mom but her sister and niece at the airport curb.


Grandma brought Shelby some fun things, including a sweet little Minnie Mouse and some warm jammies. Good thing, too - this California baby didn't have anything warm enough for the rainy Olympia weather!

The shower was a blast. I just love baby showers! I'm glad there were so many sweet women out there who got together to spoil my little sister and baby Haylie. I can't wait to meet their little one...she'll be here next month!

We got to do some sight seeing while we were there. Andrea and Jake live in such a beautiful place! First was Puget Sound.


Then lunch at Falls Terrace Restaurant with a great view of some very fast-moving waterfalls.


Then lots of Haylie shopping at Babies R Us. At one point it turned into What Not To Wear baby-style - silver embroidered pants and a pink faux-fur coat? Really?

I'm so glad we had a chance to go visit. Shelby was an awesome traveler, by the way. She's such a great little baby! I love her!
