Growing Up

Today is the day - Cameron had his first rice cereal! 

Getting that first bite ready...he's not sure what to think yet.

He's been waiting for this day for a long time. He is well aware of what food is and well aware of the fact that we get to eat it and he doesn't. He's been grabbing at our plates for a while.

I would have tried rice cereal sooner, but I forgot to get it at the store last weekend and didn't want to make another trip. I'm that lazy! So he had to wait. But I think it was worth it - he pigged out!

It was a very messy event. He wanted to do it all himself.

As expected, it was adorable and chaotic. 

I think he likes it!

He ate the whole cupful like a champ...whatever didn't spill onto the bib, or him, or the chair.

He stored plenty of leftovers on his clothes...

...and in his hair. Bath time!

We also got out the Exersaucer this week. The verdict: Exersaucer = lifesaver!

Shelby was always very content in her bouncy chair, but Cameron prefers standing and sitting straight up. So when I pulled this fun thing out he took right to it. I think he'd been pretty bored and he's having a blast with all of this entertainment.

 

Tom and I are having fun with baby #2 because we don't feel that "don't grow up too fast!" feeling. Instead, we know all of the fun phases that are coming up and we're excited when Cameron reaches each little milestone. He's doing great!
