Shelby got her ears pierced! This was my birthday gift to her this year. She thought it'd be fun to have earrings like mom. She has the most adorable tiny ears and they look pretty sweet pierced.
When we got to Claire's, the only thing she cared about was a little game she found. Do you remember those little fishing games that wind up and spin around and you "catch" the fish with magnetized fishing poles? She was pretty captivated and talked about that more than the earrings.
Shelby's funny; unexpected and simple things catch her attention most.

I had told her beforehand what to expect, and she was very well behaved. Not at all a fan of the moment of truth, though - she cried a few crocodile tears. Then she cheered up and started talking about her fishy game again.
Now she has her little studs in and looks so cute. Tom gets a little apprehensive about anything that takes her farther from little girl-ness and closer to big girl-ness, but I think he thinks she's adorable with pierced ears. I agree.
