It's time to go back in time. I was looking through my photos and I feel like I've let a lot of things fall through the cracks. I have some really cute photos and fun experiences I want to make sure I post.
Here we go!
Grandma Garner sent us a copy of
The Lorax. It's my new favorite movie. There's a part where the brown bar-ba-loots snack on marshmallows, and Shelby asked if she could have a marshmallow treat too. So we made indoor s'mores. As you can see, she loved them!
We were lucky to get a visit from Tom's brother Ed and his son Dallin when they came out to do some college campus visits. I got the photos from Jen's blog - thank you! Oh, and Jen is not bitter that she couldn't come on the trip. Not at all. We missed you!
| Yes, Tom is IN the fountain at Cal Tech. Pretty sure that's not ok. |
Tom was thrilled to chauffeur them around, and of course made sure their route included a stop at UCLA.
| Dallin's the oldest grandson, Cameron the youngest. They're a good-looking team! |
Dallin is in that exciting college application phase now - good luck! If he comes to California we will of course take good care of him.
| Wake up, Dallin! It's time to play! |
The guys stayed at our place and went to church with us the next day, and we all had a blast hanging out with them. Thanks for the visit!
We went to the Santa Monica Farmers' Market for the first time and had fun trying all kinds of yummy foods. I even splurged and bought dragon fruit. Very cool looking inside and out, but the flavor is pretty boring. I also bought avocados that were delicious, but the guacamole I made with them didn't do them justice. I'll do better next time.
| Shelby and her friend Madeline ran around the fountain after being stroller bound through the market. |
We went to a cupcake shop after the Farmers' Market. I think the sugar went to Shelby's head. |
The next day we went to Disneyland. In 90 degree heat? You bet! It wasn't that bad for me, but I went with two adorable pregnant friends who probably felt the heat - literally - much more than I did. I love our hardcore friends! It was a really fun visit. We've been trying to coordinate a trip together since we all got passes and we were excited to finally make it happen.
| Jack, Shelby, and Whitney with a cute tractor. The new Cars area is awesome! |
Labor Day was a blast this year. We kept up our Labor Day beach day tradition and had a great time with the LaBau gang. Yes, these photos are mooched from Elizabeth because yes, I failed to take photos of my own. They did such a good job of chronicling Cameron and Asher's budding friendship.
| Cameron loves Elizabeth - he kept getting fixated. |
I just might have something up my sleeve... | | Cameron grabbed Asher's head like this and then leaned in for a nibble. It was hilarious. Don't make it a habit, Cameron - you'll probably lose friends if you try to eat them. |
| I want to frame this! |
| I love that they're both coyly hiding under their hats. |
| "Hey, you look kinda like me!" |
| I think Cameron needed a hat adjustment - thanks, Asher! |
| Little buddies. |
| All that head nibbling is exhausting! |
The day Taylor went into the MTC, we figured Disneyland would be a great place to celebrate. So here we are again! The Halloween decorations are up, and it's such a fun time to go.
| Shelby had fun feeding the ducks some lunch while we ate ours. |
| Yogurt face! It was Cameron's lunch, until Shelby bellied up to the table and ate the rest. Sorry, Cameron! |
We've been swimming at our friends' house a lot this year, and it's been a blast. Cameron gets so into it and I finally got a video. Of course every time I tried to film he would spin around, but I got some good splashes at the start. He keeps himself so entertained splashing around.
That's all! I feel caught up now.

I love the hat baby! Too cute!
Ed and Dallin had so much fun. You should totally frame that cute picture of Cameron in the hat!
