St. Patrick's Day Weekend

St. Patrick's Day was more eventful than usual this year and we loved it.

On Saturday we walked to the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Hermosa Beach.

Shelby scored some candy and immediately plopped on the curb to enjoy. She couldn't care less about the parade when she had candy in hand.

It was the most laid back little community parade and we loved it.

Parade swag - candy, beads, and a "Kiss Me, I'm Irish" headband.

The kids were occasionally part of the parade - the lines were pretty blurred.

It was nice to get my parade fix after the Rose Parade didn't happen - I've recovered now!

This cone was on its last leg...then Shelby came along...

Shelby really got into the music and liked to march along with the bands.

Then today for actual St. Patrick's Day we went to our friends' house for a huge celebration. Tom's work friend Jim and his family were nice enough to invite our family to join them for the fun. This is an adorable Irish Catholic family that definitely doesn't mess around when it comes to St. Patty's Day. It was fantastic.

And Tom wore a kilt, by the way.

And sang an awesome Irish drinking song.

What a man.

This house was like paradise for the kids. They had a blast.

Dessert's not dessert unless you wear some!

Volleyball, anyone?
