We had a lot to celebrate - Christmas, of course, and being with my brother for his first Christmas back from his mission; meeting Jake and Andrea's sweet new little boy, Sam; going to Sam's baby blessing; and playing in the snow. More on the snow later.
We arrived at about 2am on Christmas Eve. After catching up on our sleep and enjoying some yummy french toast casserole, I went upstairs for what I thought would be a quick present wrapping session. I emerged four hours later. Holy cow it takes forever to wrap gifts! We saw some cool Christmas lights, opened Christmas Eve jammies, and went off to bed.
We had a Christmas miracle overnight! Shelby had been praying and praying for snow during our Utah trip. She must have been dreaming of a white Christmas...we woke up to a layer of fresh new snow! It was great to see our cute little girl's prayers answered.
Christmas morning was awesome. Snow, presents, turkey, family, all that good stuff.
Top of her list - Orbeez! They're weird, and she's happy.
A truck! The knee and elbow patches on his jammies kill me. So cute.
Shelby enjoyed the Christmas carnage. I enjoy her jammies - how do you not buy her a shirt that says "HAPPY"?
The next couple of days I could hardly keep the kids out of the snow. It was so fun. Cameron hadn't ever played in it before and it both confused and intrigued him. He had a ball, and then when it would touch his skin all he could say is "it's hurting!" He hadn't ever felt cold before. Silly California boy.
Meeting little baby Sam was so fun. He's adorable. Jake and Andrea kindly planned his baby blessing for the Sunday after Christmas and I'm so glad we could be there.
Handsome Sam, ready for the baby blessing.
I love the wreath my sister made for me. Those are real vintage ice skate blades. Oh my goodness it's beautiful.
Shelby got a telescope for Christmas; she's really into space these days.

Good trip!
