What 5:00 AM Looks Like...

5:00 AM looks like a snooze button...

...5:30 looks like a morning commute...

...and 6:15 looks like a morning workout.

So, living in L.A. does have its perks. Sure there's traffic. Sure rent is rediculous. Sure there's smog.

But there's surfing.

Last week I made an incredible discovery at work--we have showers! That, combined with the fact that our executives believe in "casual Fridays" where we get to wear jeans and t-shirts to work means that I get to surf every Friday morning before work.

A bunch of the folks at work surf too so I started a Friday morning "Dawn Patrol." We get out to the beach right before sunrise, surf for two to two and a half hours then head over to work.

Basically, life here is great.

I love you and the beach. "Surfin' USA" is my other theme. I am so glad there is one surfer in the family.

Why am I not surprised that the boy we had to drip water on to get up to help with the papers, now willingly (excitedly, even) gets up at such an hour of the morning in order to surf. Love you.

OK, now 6:15 is even more depressing for me. Dallin gets up at 6:10, so I'm not going to let him read this blog (just kidding:)

Hey Seguine...nobody cares about your surfing. Ok? DC has just as fun things to do at 5 in the morning. I can run by homeless people. Jog by drug dealers. Sprint past police cars. Ambulate between drug dealers selling to homeless people who are being hounded by policemen. So there. You don't have a monopoly on fun.

Somehow when you get up for WORK you're tired, but, for me, if it's golf or basketball, I'm like a little kid, SMILEY, bumping into things in the dark but HAPPY. If I could surf, I'd definitely be excited to get up!
