Why I Shouldn't be Allowed to Blog...

One reason why I resisted the blog thing for so long - I am terrible at taking photos. What fun are blog posts without a visual? My lack of camera awareness is definitely genetic. Case in point: my mom forgot to take photos of my 2nd birthday party. She remembered the next morning - I have a bunch of pictures of me in my pajamas next to my half-eaten birthday cake. Better late than never, mom!

Anyway, my mom, dad, and brother Taylor were here in California visiting all weekend and even though I don't have pictures to prove it, we had a great time. My dad's birthday fell on the same day the Dodgers played the Red Sox in an exhibition game at the LA Coliseum. It was a perfect birthday present since Boston is my dad's favorite team. We parked at Dodger stadium due to the lack of available parking downtown, but hit some major gridlock in the shuttle line. After a two hour wait, we made it to our seats in the third inning and stared with our mouths gaping open at the 115,300 fans packed into the place. We're now proud to say we were part of a world record - largest crowd ever to attend a baseball game. Cool bragging right, huh? The Red Sox won 7-4, but we skipped out on the end of the game to hop back in the two hour long line for a ride back to Dodger Stadium. That was a crazy night!

Thanks to ESPN, at least this will give you a visual of the massive crowd!
Our seats are on the far right of the photo, by the bend in the strip of grass.

We all went to church at the Hollywood Ward the next day...thank goodness for 12:30pm church or I don't think we could have made it after our late baseball night! It was fun to have the fam meet so many people in our ward. We had a BBQ at our apartment after church - definitely something they can't do in Utah right now! They also got to be part of our Sunday night "movie night" tradition.

On Monday Tom and I skipped out on work and joined mom, dad, and Taylor at the happiest place on earth. I can't count how many times we've been - we love Disneyland! It was great fun. Another good surprise was that Tom's brother Bill got to visit. He was at a conference at a convention center across the street - talk about good timing! He and Tom got to grab dinner and catch up.

I love my family! It was so fun to have them come stay with us. I hope they're recovering - I've still got a raspy voice from screaming on rides!

How fun! My dad would be so jealous he missed out on the Dodger game.

Yippee for family that can visit and have crazy fun together--even when it get's inevitably crazier than you may have originally planned.
We love you guys! Come to Utah soon and let us hug you too. :)

Sounds like so much fun. I love how we try to cram in as much as we can into short family vists. I'm envious of Disneyland, and that you get to go so often. One day I'll be able to ride a roller coaster again.

How much fun can you cram into a couple of days?? You win the prize! Isn't the Coliseum great? UCLA played all their home football games there for my undergrad days. I loved working on the card stunts with Rally Committee. And, of course, Disneyland is my FAVORITE place on earth--ever since my first trip there in 1955 soon after it opened. We love you!
