Tom and I realized that we don't have much more time to be just the two of us like we're used to, so we thought we'd take advantage of the weekend to have a little Tom and Heather "babymoon".
I didn't want to go to the beach in my, um, disproportionate state (no Catalina Island), and I probably shouldn't ride any crazy rides right now (no Six Flags), so we decided to spend the day in San Diego at Sea World. Tom had never been before, and I was super young when I visited. We had a great time. Did you know that seals can hold their breath for up to 30 minutes? Yeah, me neither until yesterday. We're so well educated now!
We saw lots of shows like Cirque de la Mer - like Cirque du Soleil but in the ocean. It was awesome.
Then we of course saw Shamu in the night show, which was super cool. We waited at the stadium for an hour to get in and get great seats (we were eating funnel cake - the perfect way to kill time in line!). We sat front and center, right by the platform the whales jump on. We must have been in a protective bubble, too, because everyone next to us and in front of us got wet, and we made it through without a drop.
I forgot sunscreen, so we're both a bit red today (and I was wearing big sunglasses all day - the raccoon effect is looking pretty awesome). It's a small price to pay for such a fun time.

I'm really wishing there was a tanline picture! I had the racoon effect a few weeks ago, it was super fly. How fun! I want to have a babymoon!! I love shamu! I used to wish I could buy him and put him in my pool..that'd work right? haha. you guys are cute!
ohh, so much fun! We babymooned by going off-roading in our Jeep as often as we could. And let me just say: mmm, funnel cake...
HEATHER!! I hope you remember me, it's Emily (Adams). I was in Vince's ward when we were in high school. Anyway- I was SO excited when I ran across your blog today!! CONGRATS on the new baby! I can't wait to read the rest of your posts and see what you've been up to!
Glad you had fun - I'm sure Shelby is looking forward to the next time you go;)
How fun! I love the babymoon thing. My favorite was with Forester. We took two while Justin's parents watched Ilana: canoeing in Boundary Waters for 3 days only to have to turn back on the 2nd day after a 1/2 mile portage to find the next lake completely frozen over--can't canoe over thick ice. We made a mini snowman in a canoe and left the lake to him. And a few weeks later, 7.5 mo. pregnant, hiking 17 mi. in one day, even in the rolling hills of Wisconsin it was pretty darn far...no starfish either. And yet, I still gained 50 pounds--where is the justice?
You look awesome, even with the pink cheeks. :)
