A Big Week

Good thing Shelby and her dad spent some time resting together a while ago...they've both had a busy week!


Tom had an orientation week at UCLA and met the people he'll be in school with for the next 3 years. He had a great time.

My mom always took first day of school photos of us, so I'm keeping up the tradition in our family. Here's Tom's first day!

Shelby also reunited with Grandma and Grandpa Garner (they're still getting used to being called that!) and Uncle Taylor.


Shelby's baby blessing on Sunday was perfect. We were so excited to have family and friends be part of it. I of course got no pictures of it, but once again I'm sure Grandpa Seguine will come through.

On Monday all of the Seguines left and my family stayed around for a little family vacation.


We spent Labor Day at the beach. Shelby has visited the beach on walks many times, but it was her first time out on the sand near the water. She wore a little blue dress with fish on it, a sun hat, and check out those sunglasses! Cute girl.

Tuesday and Wednesday we went to a family hot spot - Disneyland!


Shelby was a good girl, but the two long days definitely had her exhausted. She went through some major sensory overload. I think she still had fun though!

She had a "1st Visit" button pinned to her stroller.

Cute little "Princess" hat...I'm sure she'll be sporting some Disneyland princess gear as soon as she's able to ask for it!

Her first ride...It's a Small World. I know the picture's bad, but can you see her wide-eyed expression? Adorable.

Uncle Taylor won her a Mickey Mouse at the California Adventure arcade. Thanks, Tay! By the way, that's her second of three outfits that day. We had some spit up incidents.

I was going to ask for a Disneyland annual pass for Christmas, but since we were going already Tom decided to let me have Christmas early. Yay! I'm excited to make good use of it.

My sister Andrea is really into photography, so on Thursday before the family took off we did a Shelby photo shoot.

I don't have the skills that Andrea has, but here's a photo I snapped.

She fell asleep after all that posing and Taylor snapped this. She's so pretty!

I can't get the photo to upload, but on Friday we visited my office for my boss' birthday. Shelby got to meet all of my co-workers and of course won them over with her charm.

Saturday was my friend Jane's baby shower, so Shelby tagged along to support her future beau (Jane and I are so OK with the arranged marriage we've planned for our kids). Here's Meghan, Holly, me, and Jane. All four of us were pregnant at the same time for a while, and now there are three...the countdown is on...

Then today we dragged Shelby to our apartment BBQ for some more socializing. This girl is busy!

She's now sound asleep on me, recovering from lots of long days. Hopefully she's had a good time. I know she's made a lot of people very happy in the past week.
