A Day at the Fair - the Tradition Continues!

We had a blast at the LA County Fair yesterday. We're so excited about making it a yearly tradition.

Thank goodness I remembered the camera this year; last year I had to rely on our generous friends for photos.

So what kind of trouble did we get into?

We...
...debuted Shelby's new hairdo. She has bangs now! I got tired of her hair hanging in her eyes constantly, and she's been too interested in her hair bows to keep them nicely in place all day.

Tom wasn't such a fan of it at first. Turns out it's because the idea of her needing a hair cut was hard to swallow - it means she's growing up! But he's digging the 'do now.

...thought about relaxing in an indoor spa, but alas, we forgot our bathing suits.

...ate a ton of junk. This is a funnel cake strawberry ice cream sundae. Luckily Tom brought enough forks for all of us. In addition to this feast were kielbasa, Hot Dog on a Stick, a deep fried Klondike bar, the best cookie ice cream sandwich I've ever had, and more. I love the fair!

...let Shelby try her hand at the trapeze.

...let Shelby ride her first pony! The carousel had an age limit, even with a parent. Lame! So we let Shelby try the real thing instead and she loved it!

...found a house just Shelby's size. She was ready to move in.

...met all kinds of creatures, some creepier than others.

...saved Shelby from the jaws of a hippo, a tiger, and a rogue Gigantosaurus.

...got to ride a dinosaur!

I'd say that's a pretty awesome day.

Eew, eew, eew! scorpions are NASTY!! Eric's parents find them inside their house at least once a month over the summer. I had to kill one last month, and I hate finding them in the pool. Although, that one looks way cooler, and bigger, than the ones here.

And bangs are the best things for those not so babies. She's getting so big! I can't wait to see her in a month. And you guys too.
