This cute little girl has a new hair cut! Her grown out bangs reached chin length and we decided to go for a bob. It looks adorable.
This past Sunday was the first of the year - and Shelby's first time in primary! She had a great day.
I used Jenga in my church lesson, and she had fun building towers when we got home.
Shelby has always been into reading, and lately she's been asking to read scriptures with us. Tom got out his kids' version Book of Mormon this week and they had a great story time.
We're still fighting off our new year cold, so the kids are likely to crash in the late afternoons these days. I caught this cute view during our walk yesterday...
Ahh, sunset!
And here are my stories:
First, the cruel irony. On Sunday morning Shelby was splashing in the tub while I got Cameron dressed. When I came back in there was a lake on the floor and it had soaked the rug. I'm a bit of a bear on fast Sundays, and this was my first since I was expecting Cameron. So I was in no mood for messes. I was super annoyed.
Then...yesterday I stacked some stuff under our bathroom sink, and bumped the valve controlling the sink's pipe. It dripped for a good half hour before I noticed. There was a lake under the sink and the rug was soaked. Did I feel like kicking myself for committing the same offense I'd freaked out about days earlier? You betcha. I've learned my lesson.
Finally, the acting lesson. Tonight Tom and I were gushing about how cute Shelby is. Because she REALLY is! Tom jokingly told her she should be in acting lessons so we can capitalize on her charm. And then this was the conversation:
Tom - Shelby, say 'To be, or not to be.'
Shelby - 'To be, or not to be.'
Tom - 'That is the question.'
Shelby - Dad, why is that the question?
HAHA!
Tom - I don't know why that's the question! Ask Hamlet!
The "why" phase can get exasperating, but mostly it's so darn sweet.

Oh man Tom is just getting payback! He was the WORST at asking WHY-all.the.time. I'm just sorry you've got to suffer through it too.
And we've all been there with moments like the wet rug, they usually involve tears (our own), and are made better with hugs :)
Shelby is growing up. She looks just like a mini Heather! Your family is adorable.
