Our Disneyland passes are blocked out for the summer after this week. We did a farewell trip to Disneyland last week and a farewell trip to California Adventure this week.
The drive from Moorpark is twice as long as from Redondo Beach, and I can definitely tell. We had a pretty sweet setup driving from Redondo Beach, with carpool lanes and traffic in our favor. That's not the case anymore.
But once we got there, each visit was awesome.
At Disneyland, we saw the new "Mickey and the Magical Map" show. It was really cute.

We had to wait a long time in a line with no shade before we got seats at the show.
| Shelby's face will tell you what we thought about the heat! |
California Adventure was fantastic. The perfect way to end before summer blockout time. Even though it's June, we fought lines very little because we did the non-line activities. It worked out nicely.
We caught the Disney Junior show right when we arrived.
We went to become Senior Wilderness Explorers. Shelby wanted to find animal tracks.
| Cameron found porcupine tracks. Good thing it's all pretend - I wouldn't want to run into one of those! |
Shelby was a champ on the rope bridges.
|
They stopped to read up on some wildlife.
|
They loved the water. Shelby was a little daredevil.
Since they loved the water in the Wilderness Explorer camp, we went to the fountains in A Bug's Land. They played for a long time.
| Shelby ran around like crazy. |
Cameron wasn't so sure about it. He'd get into it, and then something would spray right onto him and weird him out.
I couldn't help but laugh - he didn't know how to move out of the way, so if something sprayed him he'd stay there until it stopped or until I came to get him. Poor boy!
|
Cameron sat next to me to watch Shelby. Look at his hand.
|
I think this little boy likes his mama! Lucky me!
We finished with the Pixar Play Parade, where we got wet again. It was a good theme for a hot day.
The plan is to let our passes expire in the
fall. We'll have a few weeks in August to go once more, and then we'll
cut back significantly on Disneyland trips.
But with how often my family
visits, I'm sure we'll still go a fair amount!
