Read this. The church always has a way of eloquently saying what I feel.
As a Californian who voted YES on Prop 8, I am incredibly disappointed. I want to feel my voice can be heard, but today I lack that confidence as a voter.
The court's ruling on Prop 8 is not definitive. It has passed the buck to the states to decide. Wasn't that the point of Prop 8? We did decide! Or are they saying we should try again? Well, Prop 8 was us trying again - remember Prop 22? California voters made the same choice.
I am not a political person. I am someone who strongly believes in the value of marriage between a man and a woman. It is a religious institution, it is wonderful, it is eternal. I am so grateful to have this understanding.
