Elder Garner's Christmas

Elder Garner had a fun Christmas, too!

He sent a bunch of great pictures this morning, so I've updated yesterday's post. Read on!

Wisemen?

The three kings got to Skype with their families in the morning. The Weber family was nice enough to host the missionaries and let them use the computer.

Thanks to awesome technology, we got to be part of Skyping here in California. My brother in law Jake hooked the computer up to the big TV in my parents' house so Taylor was huge, and then my mom set up Face Time and held up her iPad so we could see each other. It was a big digital party and the highlight of my day.

Taylor looks GREAT! He's buff, well-fed, and dressed up nice in his shirt and tie. He was glowing. It's so much fun to see him in person. He's full of charisma and spunk and had us laughing with his wild stories. He hit a serious note at the end when he shared his testimony of the Bible and Book of Mormon and their message that Jesus is our Savior. Elder Garner is committed and knows he's in the right place. We're still so proud of him!

The trio spent the evening at another member family's house. The mom was really sweet - she emailed all of the missionary moms to get menu ideas. She wanted to make sure the three elders got a taste of home at Christmas. She made a coconut cream pie for Taylor - his latest favorite.

The Hunt family - they're awesome.

After dinner the kids (big kid elders included!) ran around playing Nerf guns. The mom said that the elders fit right in with their family. Adorable.

And merry Christmas to Taylor - looks like they got to hit the driving range recently! Excellent use of a P Day (the missionaries' free day). I bet he's still got that strong golf swing.

Next Christmas Taylor will be home! Crazy!

Since Christmas time is all about Christ, here's a parting scripture from Elder Garner:
Moroni 6:8 -  But as oft as they repented and sought forgiveness, with real intent, they were forgiven.
