Here's Elder Garner's Christmas card. Merry Christmas from him.
I think it's adorable that he makes Christmas cards out in the mission field.
He's still doing well and spreading the gospel in Canyon, Texas. Right now he's in a trio and working well with his companions. He's going to come home with some lifelong friends.
I'm amazed at how Taylor has grown. His thoughts are so profound. I love to hear from him in any way, but my favorite contact has quickly become the sort of newsletter emails he sends out to family, friends, his home ward, and anyone else within earshot. He shares so many thoughts and messages that inspire me.
Here's a snippet from a recent email:
"Our example as Latter-day Saints and the way that we conduct ourselves and radiate with the spirit makes a difference. People recognize it. The light of Christ that is with us is almost tangible.
It is because of all the wonderful commandments we have. We focus more on feeding our spiritual cravings rather than our physical cravings.
Don't ever view the wonderful laws that we have been given in the latter days as restrictions or things that tie us down. It is quite the opposite. God has provided us a way to not be tied down, and to be freed from sorrow and guilt brought on by the very things we are asked to stay away from.
Commandments are not rules that bind, but things that free us and bring happiness and peace."
Words of wisdom from a wise little brother I'm very proud of.
