"Snow" Day

Today some of Shelby's preschool friends got to have a snow day.

I use the term "snow" loosely.

The Boys and Girls Club here in Moorpark had the ice shavings from the nearby ice rink delivered to the parking lot for a snow day. It was a sad little pile of icy stuff.

But that didn't matter to Shelby! She had a blast. I'm glad she can go with the flow.

Cameron was having none of it. He's a California sunshine boy.

All morning I'd talked about going to the snow. Then when we arrived I realized he'd had no idea what I was saying. The last time he was around snow he wasn't even a year old!

So he didn't know what the stuff was. And he didn't like it. He preferred the rocks and dirt.

My sister taught me to tell the kids to find my nose when I take a picture instead of "say cheese". The problem with Cameron is that he looks and also points!

He tried out some passive resistance when I said we should go back to the snow to find Shelby. He plopped down in the middle of the parking lot.

Shelby even got to go "sledding".

It was an air quotes kind of event. But Shelby got her snow fix for the season!
