So we're not into the celebrity culture out here as much as most (my boss thinks it's weird that I don't read People and US Weekly on a regular basis), but we do still get a little thrill out of celebrity sightings. Yes, me more than Tom.

The one that started it all was Meg Ryan at Pottery Barn in Santa Monica. Before we got married, Tom and I were out here looking for an apartment for him, and I realized those run-ins really do happen. Cool!
One night, I was picking Tom up from work and we ended up on an elevator with Jon Favreau, the director of Elf (and Monica's UFC-crazed boyfriend on Friends, but I swear only I would know that!). This was at Tom's EWT office - which was in the same building as Marvel Comics. Lo and behold, out comes the movie Iron Man...directed by Jon Favreau! We were in the loop from the beginning.

That was the first of many sightings in Beverly Hills - followed by Jamie Lee Curtis, Lori Loughlin (my generation knows her as Aunt Becky), Adrian Brody, and Michael Nouri (from The OC...another one only I would know!)

I was glad my family got to be part of a fun one - David Spade. We saw him at The Grove when they were all out for a visit. They got so excited! I can blame my genes for my excitement now.

Our grocery store has been an abundant source of sightings - first was Tracie Thoms from Rent and The Devil Wears Prada. I saw her on my first trip to our Gelson's and have been a regular customer since. That's loyalty.
Since then we've shared the grocery aisles with Adam Goldberg (who also played a Friends character only I would remember), Judy Greer (who else misses Arrested Development?), Justin Long, Maggie Wheeler (there's a Friends star we all remember...Janice!), and Scott Adsit (can't wait for the 30 Rock season premiere!)

I know I'm silly, but where else do you get to have these little moments? I love LA!

I miss Arrested Development too! And love Friends and 30 Rock! Now I'm totally jealous, although I don't want to live in LA. LOL
Bonus points for both Arrested Development and 30 Rock shout-outs!
I've seen Judy Greer at Griffith Park, and we actually saw Adam Goldberg at a burrito stand on Hillhurst. Heather, you're not alone--Jason got so excited, whispering "That's crazy Eddie!" And then he had to explain it to me.
haha! It's Eddie! Wow, I didn't realize how many sightings you have had! You forgot to mention the kid from Sandlot!
Justin and I live on Arrested Development and 30 Rock on Hulu.
Don't feel silly about it, we still get excited about our Sean Connery sighting at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo when we were in Scotland (think of it as battle of the bands with bagpipes...)--he was only four rows above us, directly behind us (admittedly in a fancy sky-box and not our bleacher seats, but still, close).
That's so cool! It's such a thrill seeing a star in person. I'll have to do a montage of our star sightings too, before I forget them (sigh). Ah to live in glamorous LA.
At least it gives you a reason to look forward to going to the grocery store!
I think we're going to have to come visit you :) I'm so jealous!
I should move over to your area. The only celebrity I've seen in my two years here is Jenna Fisher. I need to get out more!
