Charlie Brown Style

I've read some great posts this Christmas season about Christmas trees. It's so fun to learn everyone's traditions. We were a little slow this year getting our Christmas tree...we just got it on Saturday. Now I can finally show it off and share our own Christmas tree tradition.

Our first Christmas, Tom and I wanted a live tree but didn't think it'd be worth getting a big one for just the two of us. So, Tom went to Jon's (a ghetto knockoff of Von's grocery store...that randomly sells Christmas trees) and surprised me with the cutest little Charlie Brown Christmas tree I've ever seen. It was the perfect size for us.

Our first Christmas tree! Aw!

The next year, we knew we had to bring in a little Charlie Brown tree again, and year two's was just as adorable.

"Hang your shining star upon the highest bough..."
Tom's probably the only one who had to reach down to do it!

This one wasn't exactly straight...
we figured if we leaned the same way it wouldn't look so bad. Hm.

This year, I made the trek out to Jon's again. This late in the year, they naturally didn't have any trees left. They did, however, have itty bitty live trees potted and ready to go. Since small is the way we like it, why not? So this year's tree shrunk even more. Isn't it great?

This photo makes me smile! What a funny tree.

Tom commented that now it feels much more like Christmas at our house...it's amazing what a little tree can do.

As our family grows, I'm sure our Christmas trees will, but it's been lots of fun to have these perfect sized trees at our house.

Very cute! Maybe we should have done that so that Ryker couldn't reach it and pull all the decorations off. Hope to see you Saturday morning at Mimis!

Too cute! I like the mini tree tradition. Maybe as the family grows you can keep adding mini trees, one for each member, and everyone could decorate their own. A mini tree forest!

The mini trees are awesome! And as a proud supporter of Christmas tree forests instead of individual tree--they are super fun. Of course, our forest is all fake trees, but it would be super cool if they were real!

Love you guys!
