Kicking Off the Christmas Festivities

We went to the annual holiday stroll tonight and had a great time. Sadly we had to go sans Tom again, but this year Cameron came along!

The kids of course met Santa, and Cameron got to sit on St. Nick's knee for the first time.

This was kind of the bargain basement Santa that one of the stores sponsored - the legit Santa hadn't arrived yet and Shelby was ready to get a candy cane. She asked for a Dora the Explorer toy - that's a new one. Her wish list changes by the hour.

There was a parade featuring a bunch of local school marching bands. Afterward the kids were in a musical mood. One of the stores had a bunch of instruments outside for the kids to play. It was noisy and awesome. They both jumped at the chance to shake, rattle, and roll.

I know the lighting is funky, but how cute is this picture?

Another store had SNOW! It was LA-style bubble snow and it actually looked a lot like the real thing. Minus the cold and wet, so I was definitely on board.
"What was that word? Snow? Never heard of it."

So other than Shelby disappearing into a store and me nearly panicking not being able to find her, it was a great night! We had free popcorn, candy canes, and hot cocoa and enjoyed wandering around.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas...
