Nine Months and Showing Some Skills

Happy nine months, Cameron!

He had a checkup today and is doing great.

He's hit a lot of milestones in the past few weeks:
  • His bottom two teeth are fully grown in and look adorable.
  • His first top tooth peeked through on Tuesday, so he's working his way to that full grin.
  • He weighs 21 pounds (Shelby didn't even weigh that much at one year, by the way!), and he's now big enough to ride in a forward-facing car seat. He took his first ride a couple of weeks ago. Turns out he's pretty chill in the car no matter which way he faces.
  • He still wakes up a couple of times most nights, but he's gotten really good at putting himself back to sleep. We don't even go in anymore. Sweet!
  • He loves to feed himself and has been trying out all kinds of fruits, veggies, and snacks. He seems to like everything, but cooked carrots have come out on top.
  • He's about to be done nursing...that's a big one!
There are a couple of milestones that are fun to show and tell:

Cameron has been walking with Shelby's old walker (it's super girly - sorry little guy!).

You'll catch him throwing his head to the right a couple of times - I think that was teething-related. This is a couple of weeks ago before that top right tooth popped out. Teething has got to be so miserable! Poor guy.

And he cruises up the stairs now, no problem at all.

The video is bumpy; I was sliding up one stair at a time along with him. I get nervous being too far, just in case.

Cliche time: He's growing up so fast!

WHAT. Your little dude is so grown up! He looks *so old* in that walking video! (Also, so adorable.) Way to go, Cameron!

And I loved his caterpillar costume, the big buggy eyes were cracking me up. Too cute!

I LOVE that he uses his head to balance himself as he climbs up the stairs! And weight-wise he's in good company: both my boys hit 20# before 6 months, and Dallin was a chunk too-though none of them look it now!

I wouldn't be surprised if he's walking before we see him at Christmas time!
What a cute boy!
