Eighteen Months!

Hi, I'm Cameron. I'm eighteen months old today. Look out, world!

And look out, nursery...I'll see you on Sunday...

Yep, Cameron has hit that year and a half mark and has no plans to slow down. I adore this boy. So, so, so much.

I feel like in true second child form Cameron hasn't had as many posts about just him. So here's a bit of Cameron trivia.
  • He loves his big sister. And she loves him right back. They each make sure the other is taken care of and happy each day. Sure there are "I want what you have just because you have it" scuffles each day - more and more as Cameron develops his opinions - but they are tight little siblings.
  • He loves to go swimming. And he's almost frighteningly brave in the pool. I love it. He and Shelby think pool toys are perfectly suitable for tile. He likes pretend swimming just as much.

  • He loves Jim. This is Jim's official blog debut. He's become a friend to Cameron a la Patch, so he now goes just about everywhere we go. Jim is a cute little monkey whose full name is Jungle Jim. He goes on our errands and snuggles Cameron at naps and bedtime. Patch is still a big hit and Cameron does try to snatch him any chance he gets. Like when Shelby is in a swimming lesson and can't grab him back...

  • Cameron is a talker. It's so fun to chat with him. He has a ton of words on his own and can parrot what we say pretty well. We have him "read" his own verse when we do family scripture reading and it's cute having him navigate the big words. He holds his own. Some favorite words:
    • Milk (also his favorite drink by far!)
    • Mama
    • Dad
    • Shelby
    • Jim
    • Please
    • Thank you
    • Bunny
    • Bird
    • Train
    • Airplane
    • Elmo
    • Cookie (for Cookie Monster)
    • Seat
    • Pancake
    • Noodle
    • Water
    • Lego (he's a true Seguine!)
  • We've started teaching him letters. His favorites are Q and Y.
  • He has a doctor's appointment next week, so I'll find out his definite stats, but I'll say right now he's a big kid! He's been wearing 2T stuff on top for months and has outgrown a few shirts that size. He's not really chubby, he's just solid. It makes him tough.
Speaking of the toughness, I caught a video of my favorite conversation with him. When he trips or bumps something, he'll immediately yell "ok!", like "I'm ok, mom!" Then he'll say "so tough!" I can't stand how cute it is. No whining from this tough guy.

Here's the last bit. Shelby's really been into telling jokes lately. They're extra cute because most of the time they make no sense. Her favorite is the Interrupting Cow joke. Ever heard it? Goes like this:

Knock, knock.
Who's there?
Interrupting Cow.
Interrupting Cow wh-
MOO!

So funny.

Tonight, Cameron kept saying "knock, knock". I couldn't figure out what he wanted until I finally said "who's there?" He made a noise that sounded like "cow", so I said "cow who?" Then he did a big loud "MOO!"

Seriously?

The boy's a comedian.

Happy eighteen months, Cameron!
