Santa Barbara

Tom hosted a meeting at our house today and his whole work team was there. We stayed to say hello to everyone but definitely needed to clear out while they talked shop. Our Disneyland passes are still blocked out until Monday, so we had a new adventure in Santa Barbara!

The plan was to go right to the Santa Barbara Zoo. When we arrived, Cameron was sound asleep in the car seat. Luckily the zoo is right next to the beach. Shelby and I hopped out for a quick picnic and some play time while Cameron slept in the car right next to us. It worked out perfectly.

Shelby kept burying things in the sand and marking them with X, and I had fun going on lots of treasure hunts. 

The zoo was fabulous. We got a membership since Santa Barbara is so close. It's worth the drive up that gorgeous stretch of the 101.

 

 

 

The biggest hit was the play area. That wasn't a surprise - my kids love to play! There was a hill the kids could slide down on cardboard. That's sledding California style. 

Shelby loved it. Cameron loved sliding down on his belly instead of cardboard. I have no idea how he came through without a scrape. Silly boy.
