Same Place, New Friends

We went to Disneyland!

Ok, not so out of the ordinary for us.

But we went to Disneyland with Ryan, Jessica, Austin, Eden, and Sadie!

That's more original.

Shelby (the one not looking of course!) insisted on riding with Jessica.

My friend Jessica from back in the BYU days came with her adorable family for a SoCal vacation. The kids and I quickly agreed to invade said vacation on one of their Disneyland days.

Shelby and Eden, our little prisoners.

We really did invade, too. Happy kids and fun rides meant we stayed much later than expected. Tom finally texted from home (he had to work) asking if he should go ahead and do dinner solo. The answer was yes. I'm glad he's a good sport about being thoroughly abandoned.

Had to stop for a phone call. Cameron always pretends it's his friend Nash.

Looks like Nash needed to talk to Austin, too.

Jessica and Ryan were awesome at making sure we all got to ride each ride. We had the employees' heads spinning with our complicated adult switch scenarios on rides where some kiddos weren't able to go, but we had the system down. I'm grateful they were there so that I could take Shelby on some big girl rides. Cameron liked hanging out with Ryan.

Austin shared his cotton candy with Eden on the fly. He'd hold it out and she'd take a hands-free nibble. Adorable.

I love going with different friends because it helps us do things we may otherwise miss. Shelby has never ridden the Goofy's Flying School roller coaster or the Jellyfish in California Adventure, and she talked about those most.

"I heart rollercoasters!"

I love Jessica. It was so good to see her and her cute family. I'll always owe Jessica big time because it's thanks to her that my time at BYU was as ideal as it was. She swooped in, became my roommate, and we met Kami and Brooke, and the rest is history. She also helped fuel my love for running, something I'll either thank her or blame her for when I run my next marathon in April. Training is going well, so right now it's a thanks!

Their kids were so cute with my kids. They were all excited to see each other. I loved meeting their new little one, Sadie. She's tiny and adorable and happy and has the cutest little bottom tooth.

We had a great day. Thanks, friends!

Thanks to Ryan for taking the picture!
