Shelby's school opted not to have the kids wear costumes and rather to have a superhero day. I was bummed at first - I'd counted on the traditional costume parade. Superhero day ended up being very cute, though.

Shelby wore an orange Superman shirt, perfect for Halloween. (And handed down from Nash, who is younger and a boy...but it worked perfectly!)
She also sported a cape, I think for the first time. She loved it.

Little brother got in on the action as well. It was a hit for both of them.
A Superman shirt and a Batman jacket, how could he go wrong?
| Down the slide like Superman. |
We took a quick photo before heading to our neighborhood's second annual Halloween night block party (another success for the two Heathers!).
Then we went trick or treating. We made sure to check out the neighborhood's famous haunted house. These people go all out. Shelby was obviously in awe.
At one point a "ghoul" jumped out a window at another visitor. Shelby wasn't freaked out, but she made a point of telling me, "I'm not going over there." Good call, Shelby.
Successful Halloween, check!
