Halloween Festivities

We had so many fun things going on during Halloween and we had a blast.

First was our Halloween play date in the park. Food, arts and crafts, and Shelby's first Trick-or-Treating experience. She got the concept down pretty quickly! Not gonna lie - I used the party as a good way to use up the pounds and pounds of candy we brought back from Florida. Those little kids were a big help.

She thought the candy was pretty cool...

Next, pumpkin carving night! We made our first family Jack o' Lantern and he is pretty darn cute. We named him Kevin the Pumpkin - I don't know why, but it has a nice ring to it!

She couldn't decide what she thought of the pumpkin guts

Such a good helper

Here's Kevin!

We spent Saturday afternoon at this cute family's house:

Seth, Jane, and Ryan
It was Ryan's first birthday party!

He got to annihilate one of Elizabeth's beautiful cakes...

Then he opened presents. When he got to ours, he decided to join it in the bag!

Shelby had lots of fun playing with her friends and with Ryan's toys. She started the day in her kitty costume, but it was hot and ended up cramping her style. She worked the tutu instead.

Tom, Shelby, and I had fun baking Halloween cupcakes on Sunday afternoon. My mom sent us a cute cupcake making kit as a happy Halloween present and we had tons of fun. Thanks, mom!

If you look closely, you can find a spiderweb, Jack o' Lantern, mummy, and black cat.
Aren't they cute?

We got to go to the Hansens' house on Halloween night for chili and some serious Trick-or-Treating. There were plenty of takers for our Florida goodies there, too! The Hansens live in a fantastic neighborhood; people went all out with decorations and candy. We were so glad to find a fun place for Shelby's first time. Our neighborhood was totally dead (pun intended a little bit).

Tom hung out with our dinosaur friend Bruce. So cute!
Her cat costume had been through the birthday party and our ward party the day before, so Shelby just worked a tutu again for Trick-or-Treating.
She looked adorable.

Hope you all had a SpOoKy Halloween!

I adore the trick-or-treat bag. Nothing is better than Anthropologie treats! :)
