Last week we made an exciting discovery: the North Pole isn't too far north of us after all! It's just a quick train ride away! We decided to go as a family to visit.
Our train left from Travel Town at Griffith Park. First we had to wait in line, which wasn't so bad because there were so many fun things to see and do. Shelby loved the Christmas lights and snowmen. Her and her dad played on railroad tracks (unoccupied!) and Shelby danced her little heart out. She loves Christmas music and she's got some adorable dance moves.
Once the train arrived, we boarded for the quick ride to the North Pole. Santa was there, along with Mrs. Claus and even one of Santa's elves! Shelby didn't want to wait around to sit on Santa's lap; she chose to run around and see even more exciting sights. She'll visit Santa later.
The train ride back to the real world took us past lots of beautiful Christmas lights, a gingerbread house, and some hungry reindeer. Shelby loved it.
It started sprinkling earlier in the night, but it didn't start pouring until we were snug in the car. Phew! Good timing.
We wondered why it was raining and not snowing at the North Pole...do you think it wasn't the real place? No, that can't be true!
