LA Zoo

We finally checked out the LA Zoo! 

Don't worry, he's fake!

Like so many places around here, it took a formal play date to finally get me to plan the excursion. Thank goodness for friends who get me out of the house! We met up with Rachel and Heidi, and my friend Jane from the Hollywood crowd came along, too. It was lots of fun.

Shelby's favorites were the pink flamingos and the tortoises. She's still talking about them. My favorite moment was at the new elephant exhibit. The elephant was having lunch, so all we could see was the elephant's rear end. Shelby looked in and kept saying "Bum! Bum!". She's a cutie.

Shelby, maybe the hippo wants a bite of your sandwich!

I wasn't diligent about taking pictures with the real animals, so I got some with the fake ones. Shelby made friends with an alligator and had lunch with a hippo.
