Patch Confessional Part II

Get ready for a facepalm kind of story. But one that makes us smile, at least.

We went to church on Sunday, picked a bench, and sat down. Must have been the same bench we sat in the week prior, because not 10 SECONDS passed before I looked over and found our missing friend Patch. Right next to me. Blarg! He was wedged in the crack between the bench and the chapel wall, so he wasn't visible above or below the bench. But he was perfectly visible the second I sat down next to him.

Somehow he stayed there untouched through meetings in the chapel second and third hour the Sunday he disappeared, and then young men / young women night on Wednesday, cleaning on Saturday, and another ward before ours on Sunday. And it's funny that no one sat in that bench. We got there during the opening hymn and took the first open bench we saw. So we think there must have been some reason the Patch situation happened the way it did. Either that or never put Tom or me in charge of a search party!

I hid the original Patch from Shelby and tucked him in my bag - I think we just need one Patch in our lives. We're going to stick with the new whiter, fluffier version. The original will get stashed away with the two backups.

Funny story, huh? I'm just grateful that we only had to be without Patch for one night - that was quite enough tugging at our heartstrings. It all worked out just fine. And at least we found the original, because wondering where in the world he went had been driving me crazy!

That is funny! Poor original Patch though.

Life takes some strange turns and how we handle them makes us who we are. I would cherish this memory and share it with Shelby when she is grown. This is a perfect example of Great Parenting and you two have it. It's the Little Things that make life so great. Love Nana-Buni
