And He's Off!

Elder Garner is going back to Texas!

Tomorrow he'll hit the road and head to Abilene. He'll be working with Elder Hebdon in the Abilene 2nd Ward. He's thrilled to have a change of scenery and a chance to explore a new city.

Here's what he knows about Abilene: the city has the most churches per capita in the entire U.S. There are three Christian universities. There is also a law in the city that missionaries are not allowed to proselyte after 7pm, so they will have to be in by 7pm each night unless they have a set appointment. Interesting!

Although he was ready to leave Roswell, Elder Garner was surprised how hard it was to say goodbye to the friends he's made. After that long, I'm sure he's made an impression on ward members, investigators, other missionaries, and anyone he encountered in the city. Taylor is pretty hard to forget!

Here's my favorite recent story. I love that Taylor loves to cook. I also love that cooking in a kitchen sans cheese grater won't stop him. He made funeral potatoes the other night using a potato peeler to grate up the cheese. He said, "It took awhile...it turned out really good though." What a good sport!

We're excited to find out what Abilene has in store for him. Welcome back to Texas, Elder Garner!
