The LA Temple Visitors' Center had some new visitors yesterday. Shelby and Cameron didn't want to leave!
Shelby decided to teach a Family Home Evening lesson on temples, so we went to the source to do some lesson prep. The place is awesome; the kids got to draw, play on computers, and watch videos. So, pretty much what they love to do at home only in cool new surroundings.
Cameron developed his own "Name that Apostle" game. The only thing is when he pointed to a picture he'd say "What's that?" instead of "Who's that?". Close enough...
| "What's that?" "Elder Holland!" |
They each got to play another cool game that predicts what language you'll speak on a mission. So future Sister Seguine, keep your eye out for a Latvian-speaking mission. Future Elder Seguine, keep your eye out for a Portuguese-speaking mission. We'll see how that turns out...
I'm glad there were so many sweet sister missionaries there to show the kids around. My kids love missionaries. That was definitely a highlight.
We spent a moment admiring the beautiful Christus statue before leaving. I had to hurry and remind them to be respectful as they both wanted to start climbing all over. Not such a good plan. They got the message and were very reverent.
I've meant to bring the kids here for a long time. I'm glad Shelby's lesson idea reminded me. We plan to go back more throughout the summer.
Also, Shelby's FHE lesson was adorable.
