Recent Adventures

Here's what we've been up to!

Tom's sister Lynn and her kids Aidan, Davin, Eme, and Maddie came for a visit and stayed at our house. We love visitors!

All 6 kids fit in nicely.

We went to Zuma Beach and had a blast. Sadly the day ended in sunburns for Lynn and the kids; Lynn had to stock up on aloe. Hopefully it was a small price to pay for fun in the sun. And for the boys, fun with sand crabs. Ew.

This is my new favorite picture of Shelby.

Lynn and Cameron buried Maddie!

The next day we played at the California Science Center. I love this place because it's fun and it's free!

The girls used a lever to lift a truck. They're super buff.

We decided to visit the space shuttle Endeavour. I've wanted to visit since we saw it land at LAX in 2012, and it was so cool! I didn't realize how gigantic it is. I loved it.

The photo is blurry, but here's the gang checking out the shuttle.

You can walk right under it.

We also saw the kelp forest.

Eme took this picture for us! Thank you!

And visited other fun exhibits.

Cameron went for a spin on a snowmobile.
Maddie and Shelby made delicious snacks.

Shelby left us with a great news report before we left. She and Patch are great co-anchors.

Thanks for the fun visit, Lynn!

After Lynn and the kids said their goodbyes, our family went to Touch a Truck. We went to the smaller-scale Moorpark version a few weeks ago, and we were so excited to go to the much larger Thousand Oaks one. We had a great time!

Cameron was in heaven in the driver's seat of a dump truck.

I'm ready to help with the lawn, dad!

The kids got to make picture frames out of paint stir sticks and hardware.

Shelby got to spray a fire hose! A kid was standing below hoping to be sprayed...Shelby nailed him!

We're the special deliveries in the UPS truck.

She's ready for school!

A fun bonus of the adventure - a bounce house and bounce slide!
