Museum-Goer

Shelby got a little intro to the art world today. We spent the afternoon at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. My friend told me about their free kids' club and we finally signed her up. Now that she's a member, Shelby and I can get in free until she's 18 years old. Good deal!

There's a cute kids' gallery where Shelby unleashed her inner artist. She used watercolors and markers and made a beautiful picture for Tom.

Then she felt the need to be reverent?

We ran around outside at the La Brea Tar Pits. The vibe was great - lots of kids around on field trips, a sweet older man playing the banjo, and doggy adoptions going on in the courtyard. She ran over saying "cute doggy, cute doggy"!

She scaled the grass hill a bunch and hung out with the cougars or mountain lions or whatever those are. The girl's got so much energy!

There's a cool installment of light poles out front and Shelby loved running through. Mostly running away from me and the camera.

Here she's watching the big kids pose for pictures. She loves to see what the big kids are up to. It's adorable.
Just a side note - will someone tell me what I was thinking when I took the 405 freeway home from LA on a Friday afternoon? It took us two hours to get home! Ick! I feel like I could do a whole post complaining about that, but I'll just sigh and get over it. I should have known anyway.

We're looking forward to more LACMA visits!

I love that Patches goes everywhere. So what happens if patches gets left at home?

Hasn't happened yet! As soon as we head for the door, I hear a little voice say "Patch come!". She takes such good care of him. He'd better not ever get lost...
