Eighteen Months!

Shelby is eighteen months old today!

She had her checkup at the doctor today, and she's still doing great. She's camping out in the middle of the growth curve - 50th percentile for height and weight. She's officially half my height now. Crazy.

She's talking up a storm and even says little sentences like "up, please". She knows the word "water" well by now - all the rain we got recently had her running to the window saying "wa-wa!" constantly. She couldn't figure out why there was water leaking from the sky.

She knows us as "mama" and "dada" and herself as "baby". It melts my heart when she pats my arm and calls me mama!

She's learned to fold her arms when we say prayers and sits so sweet and still.

She LOVES Elmo. Brushing her teeth with her Elmo toothbrush is one of her favorite things.

She's a fantastic eater, just like her mom and dad! Raisins are her favorite right now.

She still goes running with me most mornings. I'm glad she's willing to sit nicely in her stroller so I can get in some exercise. There are perks for her - I usually let her run around in the sand or at the playground. She's ok with the give and take.

She loves phones. She walks around chatting on the phone several times a day. I have to be careful...she's made more than a few prank calls from my cell phone!

She blows kisses a lot, so consider yourself smooched!

We love our little Shelby more than words can say. Happy eighteen months!
