Holiday Happenings

Haylie was there, too! The stroller was a bit too low, I guess...

Oh, how we love Christmas time!

As always, we drove to Utah and spent time with our family. Andrea and Jake didn't come last year as they were waiting around for sweet little Haylie to come into the world, so it was great that we were all together again this year.

We usually see a movie on Christmas Eve, but we weren't sure how the babies would feel about it. We saw the lights at Temple Square instead.

That was a big hit for Shelby - she LOVES Christmas lights. She runs around and yells "yites! yites!". The baby talk version is too cute.
My new favorite family photo.

We opened jammies on Christmas Eve night. Shelby had her dad's help.

Christmas morning was great.

Shelby got the hang of opening presents right away and tore in.

Uncle Tay got a guitar and played some good tunes for us.

We also celebrated little Haylie's first birthday on the 27th. She got to destroy a cake and loved every minute. What a cutie! I'm glad her birthday is close to Christmas so we can all be together for it each year.

On to New Year's Eve...

This cute little girl stayed awake to bring in the new year! Party girl!

Our friends Chris and Holly were nice enough to have us over for a "Minute to Win It" party - it was hilarious!

We perfected the art of each game.

(These aren't the actual names of the games, by the way - I'm sure the real ones are more eloquent)

Ear pulley M&M eating...

Hands-free Oreo devouring...

Elephant trunk swinging??? (I look scary - no blackmailing!)...

Pedometer head-banging...

Balloon juggling...

Card blowing...this game kept our determined Tom busy for two hours.
The goal is to stack a deck of cards on top of a bottle and then blow all but the bottom card off. Easier said then done. 2011 got off to a good start when Tom finally did it! What a man!

Shelby and Whitney had a blast playing with streamers, balloons, and water bottles all night. Whitney stayed up, too. They're such fun little girls!

HAPPY 2011!
