Little Cinderella

I know I do a lot of Disneyland posts, but today's trip was especially cute. Shelby was Cinderella for a day!

She got this dress for Christmas, but refused to wear it. She fussed and pulled at it when I tried to get her to wear it Christmas day. Then the next time I got it out, she remembered it and took off running! So today I talked it up big time and got her to wear it with no struggles. I think she felt pretty.

There was a neat "Family Fun Weekend" going on today. We...

Met lots of characters, like the Alice in Wonderland gang...

...and Pinocchio.

Then Shelby sat in the shade and took in some jazz music.

And then Shelby got a hand-drawn sketch of Minnie Mouse done just for her. They had some Disney sketch artists there doing free drawings of any character imaginable. Minnie is still Shelby's favorite, so that was an easy choice. She kept saying "Minnie! Minnie!" as the artist was drawing, and she insisted on carrying the finished sketch.

Before the activities started up, we enjoyed the Frontierland petting zoo. I just recently realized it's there and this is the first time Shelby and I have gone in. She had a ball petting the cute little goats.

At the end of the our trip was some play time in Toon Town. Shelby loves to go down slides and just recently started sitting up like a big girl to slide down. This particular slide was pretty weak, but she's still smiling!

The poor girl had a mini meltdown before we left. All she wanted to do was drive a car. I sat her in one with a very narrow driver's seat. She would lean forward to reach the steering wheel and slide right off the seat. After several tries she got so frustrated - poor girl! She just wanted a joyride!

We moved to a less slippery car and she had a lot more fun.

Thanks for the fun day, little Cinderella!

I LOOOOVE her in that dress! Too cute. I'm glad she is feeling pretty in her princess gown now. :)
I can't wait to buy one for Haylie! She'll have to get her first one next Christmas!
